ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release) — Northern State University will honor the achievements of more than 300 students during its spring commencement ceremony Saturday, May 9.
In addition to awarding the associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, the ceremony will include recognition of retiring faculty, faculty awards and the conferral of an honorary degree to Jim Thares, who will also serve as this year’s commencement speaker.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and take place in Wachs Arena at the Barnett Center. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be streamed live via multiple platforms. The ceremony will be livestreamed through the NSU Facebook page, and broadcast locally on Midco channel 588 and NVC Channel 12.
Live captioning will be provided on screen at the venue, as well as online through Facebook and the graduation webpage.
Almost 300 students are scheduled to graduate from Northern State this year.
