Senator Rohl present SB12 to the Senate State Affairs Committee

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- District 1 Senator Michael Rohl presented SB12 to the South Dakota Senate State Affairs Committee Wednesday.

SB12 limit the amount of money that may be loaned to a candidate or political committee.

Senator Rohl describe what the bill does.

Rohl discuss what happened last year is what prompted this bill.

There was no opposition speaking about the bill.  When it went to the committee for questioning, Senator Carl Perry asked Senator Rohl about money going toward candidates.

Senator Perry made a motion to refer it to the 41st day to kill the bill and explain why.

The motion was defeated on a 6-3 vote.

Senator Randy Deibert motioned to do pass.

The bill passed on a 6-3 vote.  Senator Perry, Tom Pischke, and Kevin Jensen all opposing it.
