District 23 Senate:

District 23 House:

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The League of Women Voters & the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce hosted the District 23 Senate & House Debate at the K.O.Lee Library on Saturday.  Candidates running for District 23 Senate is Mark Lapka of Leola & Steve Roseland of Seneca.  Candidates running for District 23 House are incumbents Scott Moore of Ipswich, J.D. Wangsness of Miller, and the challenger Spencer Gosch of Glenham.  Gosch couldn’t appear Saturday because of a prior engagement.

The candidates did address pipeline issues similar to the event held in Leola Thursday.  You check those comments on this Hubcityradio’s news page.  This will include comments made by Wangsness who couldn’t appear in Leola on Thursday.

The candidates were asked about other priorities beside pipelines to be addressed for District 23.

Candidates were asked about their position on the potential repeal of the grocery tax that could be on the 2024 November ballot.

The candidates were also asked about state funding for day care.  All of them were opposed to it but did offer some solutions.

Republican Primary is Tuesday, June 4th.  Early voting is now underway.
