Memorial Day is the start of the summer tourism season in South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D.(KELO Radio)- The unofficial start of the summer tourism season is Monday, Memorial Day.

South Dakota Secretary of Tourism, Jim Hagan said is staff recently played the “license plate game” while in the hills.

Hagen says things are already off to a great start in the Black Hills.

Hagen says to expect a big summer across the state.
