South Dakota Farmers Union address topics discussed by SD Legislature

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota Legislature addressed topics related to farmers and ranchers in the state.

South Dakota Farmers Union VP, Jeff Kippley reacted to what happened this year.

Kippley talks about a bill they were looking into dealing with right to repair(HB1269)

The bill was defeated by the House of Agriculture and Natural Resources on a 9-0 vote.

Kippley talks about why that bill was defeated.

Other bills they were looking into include SB88(Bossly’s Bill) that Governor Rhoden signed into law on Wednesday.

One resolution that the Farmers Union didn’t have a stance on was HJR5001 which addressed no eminent domain for private gain.

Another bill that they have no official position on was the bill Governor Rhoden vetoed(HB1077) that dealt with lab grown meat.  Governor Rhoden did sign into law on Wednesday SB124 that he labeled as cell-cultured protein compromised bill.
