ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Following the recount that was held Monday afternoon, the results didn’t change from election night. Chad Nilson was declared the winner of the Southeast District with 124 votes. Kurt Preszler following the recount remained at 123 & Tiffany Langer was third with 79 votes.
On Election Day, vote tabulating machines were used to count the votes. Due to South Dakota law, tabulating votes for recount must use the same procedure that was used on Election Day.
Aberdeen City Attorney Ron Wager goes into more details.
Wager announces at the city council meeting that Chad Nilson was certified as the winner of the Southeast District election.
Nilson will start serving the city of Aberdeen for the Southeast District on July 1st.
