PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The South Dakota Transportation Commission has approved 19 new Fallen Bridge Dedication to take place in 2025.  A total of 14 ceremonies will be held to honor the service members killed in action from South Dakota.  Three are from central South Dakota counties.  Department of Transportation Operations Manager Craig Smith says 2025’s list is larger than previous years.

The six to be done on Veteran’s Day are in Turner, McCook, Davison, Minor, Kingsbury and Yankton Counties.  Smith says specific bridge locations are still being determined.

Transportation Commission chair Chris Frick says its worth attending a dedication ceremony.

South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs are responsible for those bridge dedications.
