South Dakota House passes HB1242

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota House on Tuesday debated HB1242.  the bill limit the amount of money that a candidate campaign committee, a political action committee, or a political party may accept from an authorized committee of a candidate for federal office.

Prime sponsor of the bill was Representative Spencer Gosch of Glenham.

Opposing the bill was Representative Will Mortenson of Pierre who feels the bill does not make the process more transparent.

Representative Tina Mullally, who was newly elected the Treasurer for the South Dakota GOP, supports the bill.

Bill passed on a 36-34 vote.
