PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota House debated SB12 on the floor Wednesday.  The bill limit the amount of money that may be loaned or transferred to a candidate or political committee.

Prime sponsor on the House side was Representative Tim Reisch of Brookings.  Reisch place an amendment on the House to return it back to what it was when it first arrived at the House State Affairs Committee.

Opposing this amendment was Representative Spencer Gosch of Glenham.

The amendment was approved on a 34-33 vote returning it back to what it was passed in the South Dakota Senate.

Reisch details what the bill does.

Opposing the bill was Representative Brandei Schaefbauer who believes that this bill was an attack on Aberdeen resident Toby Doeden, the founder of Dakota First Action.

The bill was passed on a 38-29 and now heads to the Governor’s desk.
