PIERRE, S.D.(KELO)- South Dakota Lawmakers are meeting in Pierre Wednesday…working on the issue of protecting children from harmful material on the Internet.

Nicole Lopez, the Safety Policy director of youth for META, told the committee that Meta supports their efforts, and has concerns about parents turning their children loose on mobile devices as they try to download apps.

She says when they find evidence that the child is younger than the information uploaded to the app stores, they re-categorize the user to the appropriate age group.
