ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission during their open forum Tuesday heard from citizens near the Demkota Beef Plant expressing concerns about the smell coming from there during rendering.

Kelly Rositto(Ro-sat-toe) is from Centennial Drive:

Rositto express concern that if this doesn’t stop that she maybe forced to move.

Rositto realize that the beef plant is profitable for the county, but believes something should be done to address the odor during rendering.

Another resident from the area, Tana Westby tells the commission that scent can be smelled within the Aberdeen city limits.

Commissioner Duane Sutton reminds the citizens that the commissioners can’t respond to complaints during an open forum but that they are listening to their concers.

The group hope the commission will address this at a later date.
