FORT PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- The South Dakota Commission on Gaming has approved the Verendrye (verr-en-dry) Benovolent Association’s request to hold horse races Oct. 5 and 6, 2024, at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre.
Track Manager Shane Kramme (cray-me) says it’ll be another showcase of the horse racing talent that’s raised in and around South Dakota.
Kramme says unfortunately, the way horse racing is being funded in South Dakota has decreased drastically over the years.
Prior to the races starting and between races, Kramme says there’s plenty to do under the grandstand.
This will be the 76th year of horse races being held in Fort Pierre.
