The funeral service for Stanley W. Strobel, 88, of Eureka, SD, will be 3:00pm, Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Eureka, with Pastor Ryan Gage officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Eureka. Stanley died Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Eureka Healthcare Center.
Stanley W. Strobel was born on September 22, 1935, on a farm Northwest of Eureka, SD to Walter and Christine (Gabriel) Strobel. In the fall of 1937, He moved with his family to a farm South of Eureka. As a child, Stanley attended country school and worked on the farm.
On October 2, 1956, Stanley married Celia Lapp. Together, they made their home in Eureka where they raised their two children: Scott and Mary. Throughout his life Stanley continued to work on the farm where he raised cattle, sheep, and hogs.
Grateful for having shared Stanley’s life is his son, Scott Strobel; grandchildren: Holly Fischer and Rebecca (LeRoy) Aman; great-grandchildren: Emily Fischer, Jonathan Aman, Michael Aman, and Carissa Aman; and brother, Lester Strobel.
Preceding Stanley in death are his parents: Walter and Christine Strobel; wife, Celia Strobel; daughter, Mary Strobel; and brother, Allen Strobel
