PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,072. The state had 483 new cases and 200 recoveries, increasing active infections to 5,970. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 230.
So far, South Dakota has had 133,855 cases and 125,813 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 11 new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 148 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,853 cases and 5,610 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 33,486 cases, followed by Pennington County with 16,316 and Lincoln County with 9,198, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,834, Brookings with 4,541, Lawrence with 3,576, Meade with 3,559, and Davison with 3,392.
Statewide 406,906 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(above 62% of the state) with 375,181 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state). Brown County has 19,226 receiving at least one shot & 18,148 completing vaccination.
