Aberdeen, SD (Hub City Radio)
The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation is matching donations up to a total of $10,000 to help cover fuel costs for transporting hay to Nebraska ranchers impacted by wildfires. The hay will feed cattle where grazing has been destroyed and provide temporary safe areas for livestock displaced by fires. Emma Anderson of the Cattlemen’s Association has more.
Wildfires don’t respect state lines, and when our neighbors are in crisis, the cattle industry steps up and while hay is coming from Counties all over SD, Kingsbury County is leading the way. Anderson said there are other ways to donate, like with time or a truck and driver.
Every dollar donated goes directly toward wildfire relief for Nebraska ranchers, including fuel for hay transport and additional recovery needs like fencing supplies. Donations can be made at CattlemenHelpingCattlemen.com.
