Aberdeen City Council discuss resolution about TIF #45

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Monday Night’s Aberdeen City Council meeting, the council heard about a resolution addressing TIF(Tax Increment Financing) District #45 addressing the Roosevelt Business Park.  This is being pushed by members of the Aberdeen Development Corporation.  This would be a twenty year TIF.

Aberdeen City Attorney Ron Wager(Wag-er) goes over what the projected cost was.

Wager talks about the grant the ADC has received for this project.

Wager inform the council that there was changes made to the TIF request last Friday.

Executive Director of the ADC, Tim Hanigan addressed why the changes that were made last Friday.

Hanigan talks about the number of lots connected with the Roosevelt Industrial Park.

Hanigan discuss how urgent it was to get this improved.

The council held an executive session to set the figure they would approve for.  Following the session, Mayor Travis Schaunaman announced their decision.

The Aberdeen City Council passed the resolution on a 4-3 vote.  The four in favor was Council people Erin Fouberg, Alan Johnson, Chad Nilson, and David Novstrup.  The three opposed were Mayor Schaunaman, Council people Charlotte Liebelt and Talmage Ekanger.   Councilman Rob Ronayne was absent and Councilman Rich Ward had to abstain due to his connections with the ADC.
