ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Governor Rhoden on Friday spent the morning in Aberdeen and the afternoon in Faulkton.
Governor Rhoden talked about how the 2026 session went and looked ahead to campaign to continue to be the governor of the state. He began by becoming more involved in the process than previous governors.
Rhoden motto’s is good policy make good politicians and not the other way around.
Rhoden acknowledged that this session was more difficult to do than the previous year because some of the candidates was hoping he wouldn’t succeed this year.
Rhoden gave an example of working with the legislature when it came to bills relating to property tax relief.
Rhoden provide an update on the Richmond Dam project that will be among the topics discussed on Veto Day.
Rhoden talks about one of his goals as Govenor is to be as open and transparent as possible.
Rhoden also talked about the role of the Lt. Governor when it comes to ties in the South Dakota Senate.
Later at Holgate Middle School, he signed education bills into law today including HB1017 & HB1262 dealing with school based therapeutic center in Aberdeen.
Another bill he signed was HB1082 which establishes parameters for the reimbursement of school districts that provide free or reduced-price meals to students. All total Governor Rhoden signed 239 bills into law.
On Friday afternoon, Govenor Rhoden attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Agtegra Cooperative’s Feed Mill in Faulkton.
