Recap of Monday’s Aberdeen City Council meeting

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council held their meeting on Monday night.

Aberdeen Finance Officer Jordan McQuillen inform the council about abatements for properties within the city limits including one that needed to be corrected.

Council approved the abatement requests.

Aberdeen City Manager Dave McNeil talks about the Memorandum of Understanding dealing with PEG funding with the Aberdeen School District.

McNeil inform the council how much the city is looking to put into this.

Aberdeen City Council approved the MOU.  Aberdeen School Board also approved it in their meeting on Monday night.

Aberdeen Community Director Ken Hubbart inform the council about an ordinance dealing with sign regulations for Aberdeen.  The primary focus on residential zones.  He starts with businesses within the residential zone.

Hubbart also addressed what residents are allowed to do.

Councilman Chad Nilson praised Hubbart for his efforts on this ordinance.

Council also appoved that.  Only Councilman Rob Ronayne was opposed of the first reading.  Second reading scheduled for Monday, April 6th.
