Mid-America economy showing lowest figures since October

OMAHA, N.E.(KELO)- Our regional economy is at its lowest point since last October.

That, according to Creighton University’s Monthly Rural Main Street Index…a ten state survey of community bankers.

Economist Ernie Goss says the Iran war is a factor…along with the absence of major farm purchases by China.

South Dakota exports have declined by more than 80 percent compared to a year ago.

Ranch and farmland prices were higher this month…which reflects a positive long-term outlook on the farm economy.
