Aberdeen, SD (Hub City Radio)
On 3/16/26 at approximately 11:00 p.m., an Aberdeen Police Department officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 10 block of 10th Ave SE for a traffic violation. The vehicle fled from the officer and collided with another vehicle in the 1000 block of S Lincoln St.
Officers gave the driver multiple commands to shut off the vehicle, but the driver did not comply. A passenger in the vehicle complied with officers’ commands and exited.
The driver continued to refuse commands to exit the vehicle. Less-lethal projectiles were utilized, after which the driver exited the vehicle and complied with officers’ commands.
The driver, identified as 53-year-old Michael Thomas White of Aberdeen, was arrested and charged with the following:
• DUI (3rd Offense)
• Parole Violation
• Obstructing Law Enforcement
• Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer
