OMAHA, N.E.(KELO)- Farm exports are down, and that’s hurting the regional economy.
Creighton University’s Rural Mainstreet Index fell into slightly negative territory last month, after two straight months in the positive range.
Still, Economist Dr. Ernie Goss says farm loan delinquencies remain low.
South Dakota’s farm exports increased by nearly 20=percent during the first 11 months of last year.
Still, the state’s overall reading fell to the negative, as hiring was weak, and farm and ranch land prices dropped.
