PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota House Education Committee heard testimony on HB1262. The bill make an appropriation for the construction of a non-residential, school-based, therapeutic services facility in Brown County and to declare an emergency.
Prime sponsor of the bill is Representative Lana Greenfield of Doland. She talks about the bill is in conjunction with HB1017 that permit the board of a school district to require that certain students receive instruction in alternative settings.

They have locations in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. Groher discuss how this has been beneficial to the region.
Also testifying in support was District 3 Representative Al Novstrup who is on the Appropriation Committee.
Lobbyist for the Aberdeen Development Corporation, Mike Bockorny:
The bill would allocate $2 million toward the project. The House Education Committee passed it on a 15-0 vote. The bill now heads to the Joint Committee on Appropriations.
