Ambulance Involved in Collision Near Groton

Aberdeen, SD – On February 18, 2026, at approximately 10:43 A.M., Aberdeen Fire Rescue Medic 2 was dispatched to a medical call in Groton. While responding, due to poor weather conditions, the
unit was involved in a collision with a semi-truck at the intersection of 393rd Avenue and Highway 12.

There were four Aberdeen Fire Rescue personnel occupying the ambulance at the time of the incident. All four sustained minor injuries and were transported for further evaluation. At this time, no other injuries have been reported.

The incident remains under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
