Senator Rounds address mail service concerns

WASHINGTON, D.C.(KCCR)- When your bills show up in the mailbox on the day they’re due, it’s a problem.  A problem U-S Senator Mike Rounds has been hearing about from South Dakotans across the state.

Rounds says former Postmaster General Louis DeJoy left before that could be accomplished.  After meeting with current Postmaster David Steiner, Rounds brought his concerns to the Inspector General to investigate.

Rounds says the Postal Service wants to change how postage is marked.

Rounds says another issue leading tot he delays has to do with so-called mega-carriers that collect mail from rural post offices to drop mail off at regional sorting facilities.
