PIERRE, S.D. (KWAT)–The South Dakota Health Departments says the number of people who’ve died in the state from influenza this season has risen to 14.
That includes four new deaths over the past week.
They say the geographic spread of the flu is widespread, and that influenza activity is moderate.
Minnehaha County has seen the most flu deaths with six, followed by Lincoln and Hughes counties with two apiece, and one each in the counties of Brown, Fall River, Marshall and Meade.
There were 45 new flu-related hospitalizations in the past week.
