PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota Senate State Affairs Committee heard testimony on SB110. The bill would regulate how broadband internet access service providers use customer data.
Prime sponsor of the bill was District 1 Senator Michael Rohl.
Rohl inform the committee that other states are doing regulations beyond what the federal government are doing.
Justin Smith with Midco opposed the bill.
Smith feels this bill will give an unfair advantage.
The committee voted 5-3 to send the bill to the 41st day.
