John “Buddy” Perry Christman, 69, of Redfield, SD, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Avantara Redfield.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 13, at the Redfield Wesleyan Church with Pastor Adrian Timmons officiating. Military honors will take place outside the church after the service. Lunch and fellowship will follow in the church hall. Inurnment will be at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.

John was born on August 29, 1956, in Lincoln, NE, to John H. and Ada Rae (Compton) Christman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from December 1973 through January 1975. John married Edith Chilson in Coeur d’Alene, ID, and to this union two sons were born.
John is survived by his children: Sean and John, his grandson Brendan, and siblings: David, Larry, Terry, Peggy, and Kyle. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Russell and Loretta.
