PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The House Taxation Committee heard testimony on HB1172. The bill terminate certain school district excess tax levies.

Among those opposing the bill was Heath Larson with the Association School Boards of South Dakota.
Mitch Ritcher with the South Dakota United School Association talks about the potential cost shift this could cause.
Representative Novstrup rebutted by going over the figures over the last 20 years.
The committee voted 8-3 to defer the bill to the 41st day.
