South Dakota Senate passes SJR501

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday, the South Dakota Senate debate SJR501.  The resolution would put to the voters a constitutional amendment for no legislator to serve more than sixteen consectutive years in the South Dakota Legislature.

Prime sponsor of the resolution is District 1 Senator Michael Rohl.

Speaking against the bill on the Senate floor was District 3 Senator Carl Perry.

Senator Rohl responded to that.

The Senate passed it on a 20-14 vote.  The resolution now heads to the South Dakota House.
