Recap of Monday’s Aberdeen City Council meeting

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council held their meeting on Monday night.

The council approved on second reading on ordinances dealing with amending taxicab & motorbus regulations, solid waste collections regulations, and supplementing the 2026 budget for unanticipated expenses.

Later in the meeting Aberdeen Finance Officer Jordan McQuillen addressed scheduling for the 2026 Promotional Fund.

McQuillen went over the numbers.

McQuillen offered his recommendations.

Aberdeen City Council approved his request.

Aberdeen Public Works Director Stu Nelson talked about approving funding to Landmark for Aberdeen water tower and transmission line.

 

Nelson next talks about the lone bid for roof improvements for the water treatment plants from Skinner Roofing out of Grand Forks, N.D.

Nelson was asked about how got that lowered.  One way was the warranty for the project.

The Aberdeen City Council approved both of those requests.

The council announced that the Aberdeen Insider will be the official newspaper for 2026.
