ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- The Aberdeen Community Concert Association (ACCA) is excited to announce their next concert of the 2025-26 Season will be GQ (Gentlemen’s Quartet) on Thursday, January 22 at 7:00 pm at the Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theatre in the NSU Johnson Fine Art Center.
GQ (Gentlemen’s Quartet) is a modern, elegant take on some of the most famous music ever written, fusing together multiple genres in a perfect symphony of sophistication, virtuosity, and humor. Comprised of cello/mandocello, guitar, bass, percussion, piano and violin, with special appearances by female vocalist Erin Shields.
GQ offers the audience a new, often deeper, way of listening to music, that has proven to be timeless but has been reinvigorated using clever arrangements. For example, their rendition of “All of Me “by John Legend features the fusing together of a Chopin “Nocturne,” Elgar’s “Cello Concerto,” Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” and Michael Nyman’s “The Piano.” The audience can listen to each selection and enjoy the familiar tunes, easily following along as they listen. But, if the audience wants to listen more closely, on a deeper level, they will be informed, ahead of time, of the many other elements that go into every arrangement to give them a unique listening experience. By developing these new and unique arrangements, GQ sets itself apart from every other group.
Tickets sold at the door will be for Adults – $35 and Students -$10.
