Aberdeen City Council address 2026 budget dealing with unanticipated expenses

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Aberdeen Finance Director Jordan McQuillen inform the Aberdeen City Council on Tuesday about a resolution addressing unanticipated expenses for the 2026 budget.

McQuillen inform the council what they will need for the promotion fund.

McQuillen told the council they would have to create a resolution to address the funds.

The City Manager has identified targeted cuts to fund a portion of the increases including:

• Police, Repairs & Maintenance, $10,000
• Parks & Recreation, Supplies & Materials, $15,000
• Fire, Travel & Conference, $10,000
• Public Works, Supplies & Materials, $15,000
• Utility Storm, Operations & Maintenance, $2,500
• Water Treatment, Operations & Maintenance, $1,500
• Water Reclamation, Operations & Maintenance, $1,500
• Golf Enterprise, Operations & Maintenance, $1,500
