PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Friday, The South Dakota State Affairs Committee heard testimony on SB5. The bill require the disclosure of whether a ballot question was proposed by initiative or by the Legislature.
Prime Sponsor of the bill is District 1 Senator Michael Rohl.
Rohl stated an example of the ballots from the 2024 elections.
There was no opposition testimony against the bill. Senator Chris Carr of Sioux Falls recommended to pass the bill.
The committee passed the bill on an 8-0 vote. The bill now moves to the Senate floor.
