Pierpont, SD: The memorial service for Timothy “Tim” Ronshaugen will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Langford. Pastor Dan Cole and Diane Hoines will officiate the service. Burial will take place at a later date. Casual dress for the service, feel free to wear jeans for Tim. There will also be a gathering at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Pierpont Bar to celebrate Tim’s life.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Langford.
Timothy Mark Ronshaugen was born June 22, 1955 in Webster, SD to Percy and Elma (Brendmoen) Ronshaugen. He attended his early schooling in Pierpont and graduated from Langford High School in 1973. After graduation he spent some time out in Custer working various jobs before moving back home.
He worked many years at Speedy’s Tires in Aberdeen as a mechanic. He was a gifted mechanic and his knowledge earned him the nickname the “tire man.” Many family members and friends knew they could call Tim and he would be able to help them with all their vehicle needs. He later worked for Cenex in Pierpont and for Community Oil in Roslyn as a mechanic. In 1999 he married Billie Hanson in Langford and they made their home in Pierpont.
Tim was a man of many hobbies and not one to sit still for long. He did wonderful woodwork making shelves and many other various things needed around the house. He enjoyed hunting, archery and fishing. Even when football season wasn’t going the best, he still liked watching the Minnesota Vikings play. He loved the outdoors whether it was mowing, planting trees or tending to his garden. For many years he was a volunteer firefighter for the Pierpont Fire Department. He was not shy to sing karaoke or get up and dance, oftentimes making those around him smile along with him.
Tim was always the friend to step in and help. He did not hesitate or expect anything in return. He will be dearly missed by all those fortunate enough to call him a friend.
Tim passed away January 9, 2026 at Sanford Hospital in Webster at the age of 70.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Billie; his son, Luke (Andrea) Ronshaugen and their children, Tate and Mya; brother, Phil (Sara) Ronshaugen; brother-in-law, Jerry Hanson; sister-in-law, Lori Larsen; brother-in-law, Larry Wasik; and nephews and nieces, Lee Ronshaugen, Marc Ronshaugen, Chad Ronshaugen, Brian Ronshaugen, Shannon Gauer, Kelsey Long, Jane Long and JR Larsen.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Percy and Elma; sister, Pat Wasik; brother, Ron (Nancy) Ronshaugen; nieces, Christy Ronshaugen and Jessica Goebel; sister-in-law, Bonni Stolsmark; and mother and father-in-law, Claire and Marlene Hanson.
