ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen School Board held their first meeting in 2026.
Superintendent Becky Guffin provided good news about students achieving perfect scores in State Assestment Tests this past summer.
Guffin also announced when registration for kindergarten will be occuring.
The Director of Special Education for the Aberdeen Schools, Nicole Olson informed the board of how many students are enrolled in that program.
Finance Director Michaela Solum confirmed the date for the upcoming school board elections for 2026.
The Board also received an update on what’s been happening at C.C.Lee elementary school from Principal Chris Osborn.
Osborn talks about a new program they have implemented call Soar to Read.
Osborn describe how that program works.
The other program the school is doing is dealing with math.
This has led to group called Number Ninjas who does competition across the state.
