ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The 2026 South Dakota Legislative Session will begin on Tuesday in Pierre.
District 1 Representative Logan Manhart discuss what he will be working on during the session.
Manhart will be on the House Education and Health & Human Service Committees and talks about what he believe they will hearing.
Manhart has a resolution looking to honor the life of Charlie Kirk.
Manhart addressed the issue of property taxes and discuss ways to generate new revenue sources for the state.
Manhart discussed what he would like to see the legislature address dealing with lowering property taxes and also find ways to decrease state spending.
Manhart expressed his concerns about potential for tax exceptions for out of state businesses for example data centers.
Manhart also addressed his concerns about how the Governor is handling the future funds which the South Dakota Freedom Caucus has expressed concerns about. Manhart is a member of the Freedom Caucus.
Governor Rhoden will deliver his State of the State Address on Tuesday at 1pm.
