ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Aberdeen Central’s Band Director Jeremy Schutter was among the 350 directors from all across the country, Canada, Mexico, and Panama that participated in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade at Pasadena on New Year’s Day.
Schutter talked about his experience with that event. He arrived on Sunday morning in Southern California and talked about rehearsals starting that night.
Schutter went over what he did on Monday.
Schutter talked about Float Fest that the marching band performed on that Tuesday.
Schutter performed with the Jazz Band on New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day, he talked about what the marching band did at the very start of the parade.
Forecast for New Year’s in Pasadena was calling for heavy rains and Flood Watch had been posted. Schutter talked about how long they marched in the rain.
Schutter in the end reflected on his time at this event.
State of South Dakota received an honor at the parade with the Americana Award for TravelSD’s float dealing with Mt. Rushmore and Dignity of Earth and Sky statue based out of Chamberlain.
