Preview of 2026 Legislative session from District 23 Senator Mark Lapka

wABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The 2026 South Dakota Legislative Session will begin on Tuesday, January 13th.  District 23 Senator Mark Lapka(Lap-Key) discuss what he will be working on this session.

Lapka will be likely the Vice-Chair of the Senate Appropriation Committee.  He talks about what to look for this year.

Lapka discuss bills he’s looking to prime to continue to address property rights.

Lapka discuss the issue of property taxes and how the legislature might handle that.

Lapka discuss the bill(HB1005) looking toward tax exceptions for data centers.

Lapka talks about what the legislature may address with regard to improve the recidivism rate in the state.

Lapka discuss what he believe the relationship will be between Governor Rhoden and Speaker Jon Hansen.

Senator Lapka will be one of the feature speaker coming up in a landowner’s rally to be held at the State Capitol in Pierre.
