Blood donations down in South Dakota during the holiday season

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The need for blood is always there regardless of time of year.  Lifeserve Representative Abbie Arneson explains why donations are down during the holiday season.

Arneson explains that their blood drives are arraigned nearly a year in advance.

Arneson discuss how winter weather can cause delays to these and have a negative effect.

Arneson discuss one reason donations are down this time of year is because schools where a lot of blood drives occurs are out for the holidays.

Arneson also acknowledged how COVID has impacted donations the past few years.

Lifeserve has offices in Aberdeen, Mitchell, and Pierre here in South Dakota.

January is National Blood Donor Month.
