PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Thousands are expected to travel for the Christmas and New Years holidays in the next week and a half. Shawn Steward with Triple-A South Dakota says they are expecting a nice cap to a record breaking travel year.
Steward says most of those traveling will do so by vehicle.
And while fuel prices are generally down, other travel costs have moved slightly higher.
Triple-A is partnering with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to raise awareness about impaired driving during the holiday season. Steward says if you plan to include alcohol in your festivities you should have a designated driver to keep friends and family safe.
