Aberdeen’s Walk to end Alzheimer’s reach $60,000 goal

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)– The 2025’s Aberdeen Walk to End Alzheimer’s event has reached its fundraising goal of $60,000 to support the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

According to the press release”

“The Alzheimer’s Association South Dakota Chapter sincerely thanks the many dedicated Walk participants, volunteers and sponsors who made the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s a tremendous success,” said Leslie Morrow, Executive Director. “The funds raised will help fuel disease research while also providing critical care and support to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementia.”

Primrose Retirement Communities in Aberdeen was named the top fundraising team. Through a variety of efforts, the team raised more than $12,000 for the Walk, which was held on October 4. Participants fundraise for the event the entire year.

Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In South Dakota, there are more than 16,500 people living with the disease and 27,000 caregivers.
