Annexation of Fairgrounds between the City of Aberdeen and Brown County now complete

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Monday’s City Council meeting, the council went through the final process of annexing the Fairgrounds with Brown County.

City Attornery Ron Wager(Wag-er) went over the resolution.

The only adjustment made to discuss “Fairgrounds Annexation Agreement” was executed by the city, county, and the Brown County Fair Board effective on November 12th.

Aberdeen Community Development Director Ken Hubbart talked about the water tower connected to the fairgrounds.

Hubbart was asked by Mayor Travis Schaunaman why this process was needed.

Wager talks about if deannexation is done, the water tower will remain with the city.

The city council approved the resolution.  Next step is this process now heads to the South Department of Revenue in Pierre.
