ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council on Monday night address the second reading on an ordinance to annex the fairgrounds with Brown County Commission.
Aberdeen City Attorney Ron Wager(Wag-er) review what’s in the ordinance.
Wager discuss how the sales tax is agreed upon with Brown County.
Aberdeen City Council approved the ordinance on a unanimous vote.
Also in the same meeting Wager went over in details about the agreement with Brown County about the fairgrounds.
Wager broke down the agreement beginning with municipal taxes.
Wager talks about the role Brown County will play in maintaining the fairgrounds.
Wager also address that alcohol licenses will be the responsibility of the county.
Wager emphasize that the city will not get away of fire and safety issues done by the county.
Wager discuss the possibility that Brown County can deannex the agreement.
