Aberdeen City Council approve first step toward annexing Brown County Fairgrounds

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council on Monday night approved the first reading on an ordinance addressing annexing the fairground with Brown County.

Aberdeen City Attorney Ron Wager(Wag-er) went over the ordinance.

Wager goes over what taxes on the fairgrounds will go toward.

Wager discuss what the city and county are responsible for.

Wager the possibility of deannexing if the Brown County Commission wants to do that going forward.

Wager provided conditions that city did for the county.  One is that sales tax on the fairgrounds.

The other is the responsible of the county on the fairgrounds.

Wager also address liquor and video lottery access at the fairgrounds.

The council approved it on a 8-0 vote.
