Mary Ann Crane, 91

The funeral service for Mary Ann Crane, 91, of Mansfield, SD, will be 10:00am, Monday, September 8, 2025, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Bret Bierman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Aberdeen. Mary Ann died Monday, September 1, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street, Aberdeen.

Mary Ann Nash was born January 7, 1934, to Earl E. and Edith V. (Hall) Nash, on the family farm near Cresbard. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in the area.

On March 6, 1952, Mary Ann was united in marriage to W. Maurice Crane in Aberdeen. They made their home on the farm that she lived on the rest of her life. Mary Ann helped on the farm and raised their children there. She had a green thumb and loved gardening, canning, and baking. She made chokecherry jelly and many chokecherry pies. She also made quilts. Mary Ann was a very caring person and loved calling on family and friends. She attended Scatterwood Church in the past and enjoyed listening to Rev. Bill Paepke and Pastor Bret Bierman on the radio.

Grateful for having shared Mary Ann’s life are her son Stephen Crane and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding Mary Ann in death are her husband, Maurice Crane; her parents: Earl and Edith Nash; two sons: Leon Crane and Daryl Crane; and her siblings: Keith Nash, Oscar Nash, Gordon Nash, Dale Nash, Elmer Nash, Isabel Means and Orville Nash.
