ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release) – The Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation’s Golden Apple Awards program recognizes individuals who are dedicated, inspiring, and making a difference in the Aberdeen Public School District. Nominations are now open for the 2025-26 awards. Up to three Golden Apple Award winners will be announced in January 2026, and each will receive $500 and a golden apple.
Nominees may be patrons and/or current employees of the Aberdeen Public School District who stand out above the rest for their outstanding contributions to the Aberdeen Public School District and dedication to excellence in education. Nominees may include volunteers, administrative assistants, food service workers, custodians, aides, nurses, counselors, coaches, administrators, and teachers.
Nomination forms are available on the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation website atwww.AberdeenPublicSchoolsFoundation.org. Completed forms are due at the foundation office by October 1, 2025. Nominees will be contacted to fill out a brief form to confirm their nomination. Teachers nominated for the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation Golden Apple Award become eligible to apply for the Regional Teacher of the Year Award, and possibly for the South Dakota and/or the National Teacher of the Year Award.
