Aberdeen Police Department receive reports of weapon offenses near two locations in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- According to the Aberdeen Fire Rescue’s Facebook page, there were two reports of weapons offenses taking place in Aberdeen.

“At about 12:00 today APD Officers were called to the area of 3rd & N Kline St for a report of a weapons offense. School Resource Officers worked with Roncalli Elementary School administrators to take precautions.

A short time later another report of an individual with a weapon was reported in the area of the Salvation Army. Lincoln School was initially locked down. APD Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate the reported individual. APD Officers will remain at the school until the end of the school day.

APD Officers continue to work with communicating with the individual in the area of 3rd & N Kline St. APD Officers are working with Roncalli Elementary School administration on a controlled early school release.

APD is requesting the public to stay away from the area of 3rd & N Kline St. until the situation is resolved. Additional information will be provided when available.”
