MELLETTE, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – The Aberdeen Roncalli girls volleyball squad opened up their 2025 season in Mellette, but it was the Wildcats coming away with a four-set victory. Northwestern won the first game in extra points, 29-27, lost in the second 23-25 & then won sets three and four, 14 & 17.
Ashley Haven led the attack for Northwestern with a team high 21 kills + she added six blocks. Ella Boekelheide posted a double-double with 28 set assists & 15 digs.
Head Roncalli coach Leesa Ware commented on the match, “[The first two sets] were extremely well fought & the girls never gave up. We talked in the ocker room on things we need to improve on and it was errors and keeping the momentum throughout the entire set. The girls played well rounded [volleyball] and very hard. We just couldn’t find their holes or stop a couple of their hitters. We are looking forward to our mamtch on Thursday against Redfield.”
