Aberdeen City Council address public works projects

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council on Monday night addressed a number of different Public Works projects.

Aberdeen City Engineer Stu Nelson talks about water projects beginning with the transmission lines.

Nelson moved on to schedule B involving the water tower.

Concerns were raised on the cost for the water tower project which was well over projections.  Aberdeen Finance Director Jordan McQuillen felt with the timeline in place that this would be the best offer is to accept it.

The City Council approved both bids.  The transmission line to Dahme Construction for almost 4.7 million dollars and the water tower project to Landmark Structure out of Fort Worth, TX for 8.935 million dollars.

The Council also address material needed for the new Public Works building on the north end of town.

The City Council approved the funding needed for the project.  The new Public Works Building will be at the Roosevelt Industrial Park.
