One concern raised by board member Brad Olson is the potential impact if the US Department of Education is eliminated and how that would impact the budget. Superintendent Becky Guffin clarified that.
The School Board approved the first reading on a 6-0 vote and will address this again coming up in September.
Here’s the breakdown of the expenses projected:
General fund: $35.27 million.
Special education: $13.98 million.
Capital outlay: $9.34 million.
Food service: $2.89 million.
Other/enterprise fund: $58,000.
